Meet our people – Harry Brewill, Product Owner

March 5, 2024 - Thank you for taking a moment to talk with us, Harry. Can you tell us little about your work history and how you it led you to Datapath?

I have always had an interest in tech so following graduating with a business and marketing degree I knew this was an area I wanted to pursue. I started working within IT in a support role before transitioning to business development within a software company. It was here I found I really enjoyed the practice of helping to shape a product and see it evolve and improve over time. This spark is what kickstarted my career in this field and ultimately led me to Datapath.

Can you give us a bit of insight on what normal day looks like for a Product Owner at Datapath?

A normal day starts with stand ups from our development teams. Giving them a chance to talk about what they have been working on and raise any challenges that have come up. From my days range from writing requirements for future work to help test and sign off complete development work on the Aetria system.

What are the most rewarding and most challenging parts of your role?

I would say the most rewarding aspect of my role is seeing a piece of work go from an idea, to a tangible work item right through to being a part of the Aetria system. Being able to see the work that has gone into it as well as your own inputs helps me take pride in the work and feel a small element of that creation.

The most challenging aspect would be understanding the product offering as a whole and how it all fits together. Due to Datapath’s wide portfolio it can be a lot to remember and take into account, but I am getting there!

How do you like to spend your time away from the office?

Outside of work I enjoy films, TV, games and F1 (I’m great at these rounds during pub quizzes)

For when I’m not glued to a screen, I love finding and trying new spots in and around Nottingham, from new restaurants and cafes to escape rooms.

Tell us something people may not know about you...

I have been learning Japanese for the last year and a half as it is a country I’ve always wanted to go to.
