With the release of the new 4K60p Tri-Combo input card, Output Rotation, and the soon-to-be released 4K60pTri-Combo output card, Barco continues to bring powerful new possibilities to Event Master users. The new 4K60p input card is one of the first to support full quality 4K@60p 4:4:4 on a single cable from a major supplier. Full 4K@60p signals dramatically expand the sources that enable event professionals to realize their client’s vision.
From portables to broadcast“Basically, the new cards really open up presentations to today’s new 4K world,” explains Chris Colpaert, VP Image Processing at Barco. “Now, using a single cable, you can really easily take in everything from portables to Blu-Ray to broadcasts. The power of this in corporate environments is obviously huge. It also opens fascinating creative applications, further leveraging the utility aspects of 4K to support very large display canvases.”
With the new 4K Tri-Combo Input card, single cable 4K60p computer inputs are supported via DisplayPort 1.2. or HDMI 2.0. Broadcast applications are catered for with 4x BNC to support 12G, 6G and 4x 3G SDI, for single cable 4K, quad 4K or multiple HD inputs. An additional video interface card, the soon-to-be-released 4K Tri-Combo Output card, will bring the same latest generation of 4K60p output interfaces.
In parallel, a new code release also adds support for Output Rotation of 90, 180, or 270 degrees for portrait mode applications for displays or projectors up to 3840x2400@60.
The full 4K@60 4:4:4 12-bit processing at low latency, a rugged modular design that supports easy field upgrade, and Barco’s advanced screen management processing all add up to an impressive package for event professionals. As Oz Ozman, National Director of Video Services with Freemanco, put it, “This is yet more proof of Barco’s unwavering commitment to continuously improving what is the de-facto industry standard high-resolution image processing solution for the rental and staging industry." The system is also increasingly being adopted for ProAV fixed installations.
“This is all part of the original Event Master philosophy,” says Colpaert. “From the outset, we have been committed to continuously offering new functions to users – that is not going to stop any time soon.”
